So listen, I'm turning 40 in less than 2 weeks. I know. I'm in just as much Hardcore Denial about it as you are. I mean, I've got the party planned and Husband of The Year has organised the most amazing present, but I'm not exactly thrilled this getting old business.
Yesterday I had lunch with one of my dearest friends (who is also turning 40 this year. Hi Mel!) and while we were discussing important things like clothes and shoes, a very Big Issue was raised....
Yep, we're talking Botox people. Personally, I'm not a fan of it. Partly because I don't need it (ha!) and secondly because I think there's a very, very fine line between looking natural and looking like your whole face has been sucked through a wind tunnel.
But what do you think? Do you rate it or hate it? Maybe you've given Botox a whirl and love it sick. Or maybe, like me, you're shit scared of needles and couldn't think of anything worse than some random nurse injecting a hardcore substance into your face. Please discuss....

I turn 43 this year, which is just ridiculous because my mental state is still somewhere around 25, and while I would love to get rid of my many lines, I just don't think I could do it. My son HAS to endure Botox injections because he has Cerebral Palsy and I see the excruciating pain he's in during his injections so, for me, it would just feel all wrong to choose the Botox option. I guess I'll just have to learn to live with this wrinkled old face ... or spend an absolute crapload on dermabrasions!! x
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the lines v botox. I think we should look our age and be proud of our lines...I mean, how odd would we all look at 80 with perfectly smooth faces?! How brave your son must be, having to endure those injections. Personally, that's what I think botox should be used for...helping people with real life issues, rather than vanity related issues x
DeletePS: and you're beautiful just as you are!!!
