Pottery Barn Home Decor

If you follow me over on Facebook, you'll know that I have a bit of a thing for online shopping.  Recently, while trawling through the Pottery Barn Home Decor website, this little set up really caught my eye:

I took advantage of the 50% off shipping fee and ordered a couple of pieces from the range. 7 days later my parcels arrived and on Saturday night The Tradie set to work putting my very own wall organisation unit together.  I know.  We lead a very glamourous life.

He's one quick tradie.
Managed to install the whole thing in under 30 minutes.

It doesn't look quite as fancy as the Pottery Barn website set up,
but I was very sensible and only ordered exactly what I needed:
a blackboard, pinboard and letter holder thingy.
And yes, that is the technical term.

Now I just need to fill it with all my important notices
and we're good to go!

To Do Lists

I'm a big fan of the To Do list.  And apparently so is my daughter.  Let's take a minute to read her To Do list for January....

Brilliant.
I don't know about you, but I *really* want to be 7.

I Heart Instagram

Are you on instagram?

If you've got an iPhone and love taking photos, you totally should be.

You can take all sorts of pics using filters and special effects and it's really easy to do.
And you can put those pics into cool looking collages using picnic.
Here's one I prepared earlier....

If you want to follow me on instagram, my handle is kandco.

And if you're already on instagram be sure to leave a comment with your instagram name below, cos I'll totally follow you.  But not in a creeper stalker kind of way.  Cos that would just be weird.

Which reminds me of the time I was on a plane and the bloke who does the safety announcements was giving us the lecture about where the nearest exits were.  His words were, "Please be aware of where your nearest exits are because just like a stalker, they might be behind you."  I laughed so hard they guy sitting beside me thought I was having some sort of fit and asked me if I was ok.  Clearly I'm not an attractive laugher.  Anyho, on that note, have a good weekend!!

Valentine's Day Roundup

Valentine's Day at our place this year was a bit of non event.  Both the kids have karate lessons on a Tuesday night,  so I found myself sitting in the local Dojo (aka local dance hall) watching the kidlets refine their mad karate skills before whipping off to the gym. Scott picked the kids up from karate on his way home from work and the tribe got home at 7.30pm, so it was dinner, homework and put the kids to bed.  I know.  So romantic.

But, in between playing taxi driver, dinner maker and homework supervisor I did manage to whip up a couple of these tasty treats for the kids, the husband and the school teachers to enjoy.

Love heart shaped Mars Bar Slice with love heart iced donuts....
Don't panic, I don't make my own donuts.
They're from Coles.
2 bucks for a packet of 6.
Bargain.

The goodies, all wrapped up for Sophie's teacher,
complete with love note written on the paper bag....

I hope you had a slightly more exciting Valentine's Day than we did!

Pottery Barn Teen

Ok, so I have a little crush on all things Pottery Barn.  While they don't have any stores here in Australia, they do offer international shopping from their online store and right now that shipping is 50% off!  I just ordered a couple of things from this gorgeous range, you know, to do my bit for the US economy...

And while I was there, I headed over to Pottery Barn Teen and found these stunning chairs....

 Seriously, how gorgeous are they?!

And how about these little cuties....

LOVE!!!

And because I have a borderline obsession with anything black, white, yellow and/or turquoise at the moment, my heart skipped a beat (or two) when I stumbled across these gorgeous images....

But I was a very good girl and put the credit card away.
For now.

PS:  This wasn't a sponsored post in any way, shape or form.
But it totally should've been!!
Maybe Pottery Barn could get their people to call my people
and we'll work something out ;)

School Camp 2nd Edition....

Those who know me well know that I don't do camping.  Ever.

I just don't understand why anyone would want to do all the things they do at home (cook, clean, nag the kids etc) outside.  Or in a tent annex.  With a dirt floor.  Why people, why??

Now before you start thinking I'm some sort of holiday snob, which I totally am, I should mention that some of my happiest childhood memories involve camping trips.  Yes, packing up the trailer with copious amounts of camping gear and heading off to some not so exotic camping destination in a family convoy of station wagons was how many a Christmas was spent.  And I loved every single minute of it.  But I also loved the few times that our family holidays involved leaving all the camping gear behind and heading to the airport.  To board a plane.  And head somewhere lovely.  That didn't involve tripping over tent pegs or peeing in an outdoor toilet.

And so, it was with great excitement that two days ago, Bailey, our camping deprived son, headed off to his second school camp.  And today he came home:

Last year when he came home from camp his bag was so filthy that when I opened it, 20 baby spiders crawled out.  I know.  Feral.  So today, I was expecting the worst...a pile of laundry to be done asap.  But instead, I unpacked a large amount of neatly folded, unworn clothes.  Just as I had packed them 3 days ago.

Yes, this is all I have to wash.  1 pair of shorts and two t-shirts.  It would seem that 10 year old boys find fresh clothes and good hygiene a complete waste of time.  I'm not sure whether I should thank him or lecture him....

FYI, This next bit was added 5 minutes after I hit 'publish' on the post above....

PS:  Oh and just after I hit 'publish' on this post, I suddenly realised that none of Bailey's undies, socks or PJ's were in the laundry.  So I unzipped the side of his camp bag and found them.  All neatly folded and organised.  Just as we had packed them on Tuesday.

Yes, that's right, my boy wore the same pair of undies and same pair of socks 3 days in a row.  And slept in his clothes.  Because he "forgot" where we'd packed them.  Okaaay then.....

How about you?
Have your kids been away on camp yet?
And more importantly, are they as hygienically challenged as mine?!?
