Yet another gorgeous party via Hostess with the Mostess

I just love the idea of guests signing a book for the bub - what a beautiful keepsake and books always make such a wonderful gift for babies and children (and grown ups for that matter!)

And how cute is the rattle!  So so clever.

awnings

I have a real thing for awnings at the moment...and no, not the camping/caravan variety.
I'm talking party tables and don't these tables just make you swoon?!

I wonder how hard it would be to whip one up?  Anyone out there had a crack at making one?  Any tips and tricks would be appreciated!

Morning Tea

This morning my little girl has a friend over for a play, so I decided to put together a cupcake decorating station for them.

They're both decorating the cupcakes as I type this...two giggly little girls chatting about all things cupcakes.  It's a delightful sound!

And here's how things looked just five minutes later....

I'm off to clean up the mess.  And then I think I'll have a slice of this....

Enjoy your day!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar would have to be one of my fave books for children.  Eric Carle is a fabulous author and illustrator and his books are much loved in our house (and were in my classroom too, back in the day)
Kara's Party Ideas has featured a beautiful 1st birthday party based on this brilliant book.
Here's a sneak peak...

Christmas in July

Here are some pics I took of our Christmas table last year.
I'm thinking of doing a Christmas in July this year....just so we can experience a cold, wintery Christmas...am I mad to want to do Christmas twice in one year?!  I think I just might be....

The place settings were handmade by Miss 5

A snack bar for the guests to graze at before lunch...
The pieces of paper are  photocopies of my Grandmothers Christmas Carol sheet music from the 1940's.

The table

Has anyone else out there ever hosted a Christmas in July?
I'd love to hear how it went!

Amy Atlas

I love Amy Atlas.  Her work is amazing, her website is beautiful and the party submissions she features are always incredible.

Loving the ribbon around the lemons.
So simple, yet so very effective.

What a gorgeous display.
Looks too good to eat!

halloween/scary party

Ok, so here we go with the Halloween Party I hosted last year.

Party Game:
Guess how many marshmallows are in the jar
(for the record, there were 21)

I downloaded these printables for free...
can't remember where from though...
Anders Ruff rings a bell?

Ghost Pops

A halloween themed display in the guest bathroom.

The Table.
Very basic and borderline boring.
I need to work on my backdrops!

Water for the guests
(canister from David Jones.  Side table from IKEA)

The Table featuring eyeball lollies, teeth lollies, ghost pops, fang lollies & a chocolate-orange cake.

Pink Morning Tea

Here are some pics from my birthday morning tea.  I know, I know...there's no food in the pics!  I was so busy running around, setting everything up and organising things that I totally forgot to take photos once the food was served.  But you get the idea of the look I was going for and let's be honest...do we really need to see pics of boring old sausage rolls and party pies?!
